On 1/29/15, at approximately 9:00 PM, Pomona Police Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of N. Main St. in the City of Pomona regarding a victim of a stabbing. Officers found a female victim who had been stabbed twice in her upper torso. The victim was hospitalized in critical condition and an investigation ensued. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit worked diligently to obtain investigative leads and ultimately identified Willy Ortega Medina as the suspect.

On 2/7/15, at approximately 7:00 PM, officers from Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force tracked down the armed and dangerous suspect and apprehended him without incident. He was booked and charged with attempted murder.
